April 01, 2002 - 10:11 a.m. It's going to be a long week. I am up here in Durham alone for the week. Mary's spring break is this week, and she and Zoe are down spending the week with Mary's parents. Meanwhile, having squandered my spring break early, I am stuck up here by my lonesome. So, trying to make the best of a sucky situation, I decide to go out and rent a guy movie that Mary would hate. I decided on "The Musketeer." I was expecting heroism and the occasional swash being buckled. What I was not expecting is the fact that, apparently, Musketeers have some sort of Wushu/Ninja ability going on. Dumas is screaming Frenchie profanities somewhere. I closed out the night reading "Harold and the Purple Crayon," the greatest children's book ever (with the possible exception of "The Monster at the End of the Book." Screw Elmo; Grover rocks.) Man, I can't wait till Friday.
