I think North Carolina has the most vanity license plates of any state outside of California. And, I guess that would be okay if people would just use a little judgement in picking their plates.

Like this car last week. Their plates said "ANUSTART." After much pondering, I realized what they meant was "a nu(new) start" .

However, what I first saw was "anus tart," so I spent about 5 minutes trying to decide what an anus tart was and why this person was so proud of theirs.

Or, like this other car I saw in the physics parking lot that actually had a physics equation as the tag. This poor soul is doomed to the hoary realms of nerdhood forever.

Or, take the car that had the plates that read "666WSHP." Now, in Durham, people understand this means he is a fan of the always-entertaining Duke Blue Devils. However, venture out of Durham and you may run into trouble.

All I'm saying is, use a little sense when choosing what to put on your tags. Unless you want people to associate you with anus tarts...
