June 13, 2002 - 7:20 p.m. Okay, despite what I may have said to some of you in the past, here is the truth: doing physics is not fun. You see, learning physics is fun. On paper, its all neat and "Ooh, that's weird" and stuff. In real life, it is staring at a stupid computer graph for hours looking for a little hump that may or may not give you an added decimal point accuracy on some obscure constant. Nope, not fun. Not exciting. That is why I have decided to perhaps change my career. I am right now trying to decide between jazz musician, philosophizing hit man, or grumpy hermit who lives in a shack by the sea. Actually, the grumpy hermit thing is looking pretty good right now. I could grow a beard and legitimately wear that big floppy fisherman's hat that I have. Of course, the fact that I don't eat fish could be a problem . . .
