July 01, 2002 - 12:41 p.m. Can anyone tell me why the TV guide channel lists what is on the TV guide channel? Seems a little stupid to me. That's not what I wanted my entry to be about, by the way. I just thought it was weird. No, the subject of this entry is the craziness that is broadcast on the local access channel up here at, like, 11 at night. See, about that time, the Nation of Yahweh gets the mike. For those of you who don't know ('cause I didn't until just now), the Nation of Yahweh was founded by Yahweh Ben Yahweh, who was born in Oklahoma. Dude move to Miami, decided black people were the real Jews, declared that God and Jesus are black, and prophisized a war in which the "white devils" would be swept from the face of the Earth (that means killed.) As a matter of fact, dude apparently demands that his followers publicly state that they would kill for Yahweh. Oh yeah, and currently Yahweh Ben Yahweh and, like, 16 of his followers are doing time for "14 murders by means such as beheading, stabbing, occasionally by pistol shots, plus severing of body parts such as ears ... [T]hey are charged with arson of a slumbering neighborhood by molotov cocktails with the perpetrators under orders to wait outside the innocent victims' homes wearing ski masks and brandishing machetes..." And, lest I forget, the Nation of Yahweh is also know as "The Church of Love." So, Time Warner gives them an hour of local access TV time every night to spread their message of "love". Wow.
